Title
Reclaiming the disused railway for cycle path to school.

Reclaiming the disused railway is a great project that will be of benefit to the whole community. I will be most interested to see how you encourage students and others to use the cycle path. Think about how you will record the results of your project, i.e. less cars & more people waking/biking to school.
Endon High School's commitment to the environment and green issues
Our team of budding environmentalists suggested an array of ideas to improve their local environment. Amidst all the excitement and passionate debate, the Climate Cops agreed on the focus of their SOS........ Safe Cycle! With so many pupils cycling and walking to school, Safe Cycle aims to provide pupils with a safer and more accessible route to the school site. The ideas didn’t stop there, the Climate Cops recognised the benefit of this project on the wider community...not only will it provide a safer and more pleasant environment for recreation, the Climate Cops are keen to encourage the community to reduce their carbon footprint too.
Why Endon High School students chose the project
Pupils hope to work in collaboration with the local community, local organisations and the local council to reclaim land alongside the disused railway line which runs through the village. After going camera shy and getting the giggles, several takes later the Climate Cops created an innovative DVD to present their SOS. Visiting the proposed site, interviewing pupils and exploring the success of a cycle path in a neighbouring town has equipped the Cops with a bundle of ideas to get the wheels in motion!
